Knightsbridge Seating and Tables for Bield Housing Association

Knightsbridge Furniture has announced that an order for seating and occasional furniture from its specialist Care portfolio has been delivered to Westland Court, a sheltered accommodation owned by Bield Housing Association in Glasgow.

The order includes examples from the Selkirk collection, an extensive range of seating developed by Knightsbridge in response to design input from Bield scheme managers. Embracing high-back and mid-back armchairs in both standard and petite sizes, Selkirk features shaped arms to allow easy independent rising, together with a sprung seat to ensure a comfortable sitting position even after extended periods. A reversible cushion keeps fabric wear to a minimum, and the Selkirk is available in a wide range of upholstery options, including waterproof and anti-bacterial fabrics.

In addition to Selkirk seating, the Westland Court order includes armchairs in various sizes and configurations from the Knightsbridge Rossetti and Gavotte collections, together with sleekly curved Melrose two-seater settees and armchairs. All the seating is complemented by the contemporary lines and natural wood finish of Balerno coffee tables.

Knightsbridge met all the design requirements specified by Bield’s housing officer Alison Allan, which included the provision of impervious upholstery fabrics and the availability of options in seat height and depth to accommodate the needs of individual residents. Throughout the project, there has also been an over-riding expectation that a welcoming and relaxed ambience will be maintained in all areas.
