Former British heavyweight boxer and mental health campaigner, Frank Bruno, will be hosting the 2016 Design in Mental Health Awards thanks to sponsorship from specialist furniture manufacturer, Knightsbridge.

As well as supporting Frank in his role as compere at the awards dinner, Knightsbridge will also be exhibiting at the Design in Mental Health event for the fourth time.

The team will be showcasing a host of its specialist collections of furniture to visitors, with a particular focus on ranges that have been expertly designed and crafted for mental health environments.

Knightsbridge’s furniture collections can be specially created in order to cater for a host of requirements from mental health organisations. Designed with the user in mind and a clinical input, the collections promote safety and security while ensuring a stylish design.

Speaking about the event, Alan Towns, CEO at Knightsbridge, said: “The Design in Mental Health Conference and Exhibition presents a great opportunity for us to showcase our bespoke collections of furniture for challenging environments, which have been expertly designed and manufactured by our in-house team.

“We’re very proud to also be sponsoring Frank Bruno at the event, who has become an ambassador for mental health issues. He should be commended for standing up and speaking out about this often taboo subject, along with the ways in which he’s spoken about his own personal struggle in order to try and help others.

“Visitors to our stand will be able to see for themselves the innovation and expertise that goes into making each one of our collections, and I look forward to helping them discover how we can help them find a collection that is not only comfortable and high-quality, but is practical too.”

The show, which is set to take place from 17-18 May 2016 at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, is the UK’s only event to focus on the design and delivery of mental health facilities as therapeutic environments.
