Knightsbridge Furniture secures over half a million deal with G4S for Britain’s largest prison
Leading furniture manufacturer, Knightsbridge, has secured a contract approaching half a million pounds, with the British multinational private security company, G4S. The Bradford-based business was appointed by G4S as the lead furniture supplier for the refurbishment of Britain’s largest prison, HMP Five Wells.
Reported as the business’s biggest single order secured in over five years, Knightsbridge has provided a selection of British made furniture. Soon the selected pieces shall be situated throughout the communal areas of the quarter-billion-pound private prison.
Products include the following pieces: the Hula Dining Table, Hula Coffee Table and the Hula High Back Armless Chair. Each chosen for the range’s robust construction, comfort and option for additional weighting.
Furthermore Sofas, Armchair’s and Coffee Tables from the Bubble range have been chosen. Ideal for the use case, they have been selected for their moulded plastic design with wide rounded edges. A design philosophy that offers practicality with a cohesive design element throughout the site.
All furniture products will be expertly designed, crafted and supplied by Knightsbridge from its factory of 85 years. All to support G4S’s aim to make the prison a ‘best in class’ facility and the project will be delivered within just six months.
Jason Brown, Director of Design & Development at Knightsbridge says
“We’re thrilled with the outcome of this project. We have enjoyed working with G4S across smaller projects over the past 8 years but nothing to this scale. The Knightsbridge team worked closely with G4S to ensure we provided furniture solutions to suit their brief. Additionally, we will complete this sizeable project within just six months. We’re looking forward to continuing and extending a fruitful working relationship with this client moving forward.”
