Knightsbridge, the respected British furniture designer and manufacturer, will be launching new collections at Project during Clerkenwell Design Week (21-23 May). 2019 is a milestone year for Knightsbridge as they celebrate their 80th birthday, a rich history of quality stylish furniture that began in 1939.
Welcome to the Jungle
Wellbeing is at the forefront of workplace thinking in 2019, with forward-thinking companies providing biophilic, sustainable design that creates healthier environments for their employees. During Clerkenwell Design Week the Knightsbridge stand (PA8) will be creating a jungle within Clerkenwell highlighting the importance of biophilia within the office with living walls and furniture covered with exquisite fabric featuring jungle creatures and foliage from visionary textile designers Timorous Beasties.
Knightsbridge will be launching two new collections during the show Caravelle and Climb. Caravelle celebrates Knightsbridge’s history, taking influence from a past mid century piece of furniture. The collection consists of an arm chair and settee that have the clean lines and organic curves that the period became renown for. Climb looks to the future rather than the past and is a modular seating design which encourages the user to climb and play with the furniture, perfect for supporting engagement and movement within an office environment.
The stand will also be home to the new lighting collection from Dyson, the CSYS task light gives a precise, powerful illumination. The design features an axis glide motion which will ensure you have light exactly where you need it.
Visitors to the stand will be able to sample beer from the UK’s first and only wheat focused brewery; Eyes Brewing. The Bradford based brewery produces artisan beer which is inspired by German tradition, modern innovation and long-forgotten English ale styles. Whilst tasting the refreshing brews visitors will be encouraged to enter the retro arcade game Donkey Kong competitions where winners can look forward to a selection of prizes.
