Knightsbridge Furniture celebrates 85 years of British manufacturing
Formed in 1938, British furniture manufacturer, Knightsbridge Furniture, is celebrating 85 years of producing quality pieces for the hospitality, healthcare and workplace environments.
In addition to the anniversary of the manufacturer’s establishment, the team also celebrates a number of long standing employees. Some members of the Knightsbridge family have been with the company for nearly 50 years, with marriages between staff and second – even third generations joining the team.
Knightsbridge Furniture has continued to grow over the years, despite the challenges of the pandemic in recent years. Bouncing back, the company has experienced record turnover this year and has impressive growth plans for the future, including further designer collaborations, evolving current ranges and investments on the factory floor.
A recent six-figure investment saw a state-of-the-art Pathfinder machine installed in the upholstery department which allows for superior fabric nesting techniques which will hugely increase production, material utilisation and time efficiency. Along with this, Knightsbridge also recently purchased its fourth CNC Router alongside other machinery, to help meet increased demand, improve productivity and energy usage.
Jason Brown, Director of Design & Development at Knightsbridge, said “To be celebrating not only how long Knightsbridge Furniture has been providing industries with quality furnishings, but also our dedicated team members – some of which have been with us for decades is an amazing achievement. Having worked with Knightsbridge for 28 years myself, it’s been a pleasure and a privilege to see the company continuously grow.”
